Nuffield Hospital, Bury St Edmunds
James Blake Associates was appointed to provide a scheme for environmental improvements to the extension of Nuffield Hospital, Bury St. Edmunds, including a fire pond. The size of the pond was determined by the volume of water needed in case of a fire.
The brief was to design an attractive space with minimum maintenance cost as well as to stabilise a 1.5m change in level.
We implemented the design with a nominated Landscape Contractor working through the building firm Carter, under JCT 80 contract.
