Registered with the Landscape Institute in 1988, the Landscape division has established a reputation for landscape appraisal and strategy formulation, as well as for detailed design and construction.
JBA's philosophy is to approach each scheme individually using our experience to assess the character and context of the site, in conjunction with careful consideration of our client's needs. Our aim is to achieve a scheme that's integrated into its setting incorporating attractive and useable spaces, both economically and with resource efficiency.

James Blake Landscape Planning Services has evolved from the assistance provided by the long established James Blake Associates and the recognition that house builders have to take on the considerable burden of numerous peripheral matters that detract from the business of building and selling dwellings.

The Arboriculture department comprises an expert team of innovative, pragmatic and commercially aware consultants dedicated to providing high quality. Our service covers all aspects and problems associated with the management of trees and woodlands.
Ecology
JBA ecology are a team of professionals with backgrounds in conservation, commercial consultancy and research. Our client base is made up of a variety of organisations including planners, developers, local authorities and other national ecological consultancies. At JBA we are committed to continued professional development and our team members are all enrolled in an internal training college and have a personal training budget for external courses.
Computer Services
LandmARC is a program developed in-house to ensure speed, accuracy and efficiency in producing Landscape, Arboricultural and Ecological plans with accurate measuring, scheduling and cost estimating at the click of a button. LandmARC can accurately measure planting beds, hedges and other landscape elements which provide the user with both area and unit quantities in addition to total planting numbers for each species. This in turn provides a full planting schedule and cost estimate which is clear and easy to read. The measuring program will soon be developed to include Hardworks. It is fully integrated with AutoCAD and uses technology such as toolbars and menubars with clear layer management so very few new skills are needed to use LandmARC even for the absolute beginner.
