Ecology
Suffolk Coastal District Council (SCDC) commenced proposals to redevelop the South Seafront in 1998, as part of the wider regeneration of Felixtowe. Bloor Homes, with JBA as Landscape Architects were confirmed as preferred bidders in 2000.
Planning consent was granted by SCDC in 2009. The proposed maritime park includes play areas, formal and informal gardens, an events space and associated facilities. Martello Tower 'P' is the focus of the site. The seafront setting influenced the design approach, with an emphasis on natural and coastal materials and planting, including a spine of shingle dunes which links the elements within the site.
