Arboriculture

Comprehensive
tree survey service

Arboriculture Arboriculture

JBA offers a comprehensive tree and hedgerow appraisal service. This includes an accurate CAD based tree survey, plan and detailed report.

The report includes information on the condition and BS category of each tree, life expectancy, age, height, amenity value and any surgery works required

Tree protective barriers can also be added to the plan and the tree survey information can be imported into the architectural layout and landscape scheme as a CAD layer.

When the layout is fixed, JBA will prepare a Tree Protection Plan (TPP), when initial tree protection barrier positions may well need to be adjusted to reflect layout and access requirements whilst still respecting root protection areas (RPAs). Areas of hard paving within RPA's can be hatched to identify areas where special construction approaches are required - such as 'No-dig' zones. These will require explanation within a method statement.

Arboricultural Implication Assessments

JBA's Arboricultural Impact Assessment (AIA) is a documented appraisal of the trees, hedgerows on site, their RPA's and any impacts upon the trees from proposed development and any potential influences on the development from the future growth of the trees/ hedges.

The AIA will then explore mitigation options that might be acceptable to ensure maximum opportunity to sustainably retain trees within any new context of development.

Sometimes the report will recommend removal of a tree and replacement with a new tree of the same species - but better located or a new species better suited to close proximity with development.

Arboricultural Method Statements

JBA's Arboricultural Method Statement (AMS) explores the methodologies for ensuring the protection of trees and RPAs. Sometimes the AMS will cover the methodology for removing buildings in close proximity to trees and also the installation of services near to trees.

THE JBA ADVANTAGE Benefits include:-

  • • Accurate CAD based tree
      surveys/drawings
  • • Rapid response to your tree

All JBA team members are committed to ensuring both clients and planning authorities benefit from JBA's close liaison between the disciplines of Arboriculture, Ecology and Landscape Architecture.Arboriculture

JBAs Arboricultural Team is famed for its rapid response times. Just state your deadline. We'll work on beating it for you.

Tree retention is an effective way of reducing both the environmental impact and the construction costs of development. The JBA Tree Constraints Plan clearly differentiates poor from high quality vegetation to inform developer layouts.

Trees necessarily lost can be replaced and the arboricultural team will advise the landscape department on tree choice and location.
